Who is Jen?
Jen is a Reiki Master & Practitioner with over 20 years experience, specialising in Tanran Reiki, Holy Fire III World Peace Reiki, Karuna Reiki, Animal Reiki, Reiki Drumming and Reiki based Animal Communication.
She is also as a Certified Yoga Teacher specialising in Hatha, Yin and Restorative.
Based in Coomba Park on the NSW Mid North Coast of Australia, Jen regularly offers Reiki and Yoga classes.
What is Reiki?
Reiki is a very simple yet powerful healing modality that can easily be learned by anyone. It is a laying-on hands healing art that uses creative life energy essential to all living things, to affect healing of the mind, body and spirit.
Originating as a Tibetan Buddhist Practice, it was rediscovered by Dr. Mikao Usui in the early 1900’s. People, animals, plants, even places and things can successfully be infused with Reiki and the effects are balancing, harmonizing and healing.
Reiki helps to create a harmonious environment within ones Being, so true healing can take place. It is a very safe healing method with many different beneficial effects like relaxation and feelings of peace, security and overall wellbeing. Reiki is unlimited in its ability to relieve suffering and promote healing regardless of the cause.
How does Reiki work?
Reiki is a gentle healing method which works by channelling loving energy to a receptive person. A person becomes a Reiki healer by receiving an attunement. This is a ritual whereby a person receives a set of sacred symbols into their Crown Chakra and is blessed by the Reiki Guides. This empowers a person to be able to channel energy through themselves from the Universal Source – for life.
The beauty of doing Reiki is that it never depletes or tires you. Quite the opposite is true, since while you channel the energy, you receive it just as much as your “client”. The healing effects are there not only for your client but for you as well. A true “win/win” situation.
Reiki is not a religion and you do not have to believe in anything to make Reiki work. The knowledge comes from feeling the energy flow through you.
How long have you been “doing” Reiki?
In 2003 I completed level 1 in Usui Reiki with Juliana Farrell.
In 2013 I completed level 1 & 2 in Tanran Reiki, with a focus on Equine Reiki & in 2014 level 3 in Tanran Reiki both with Sonja Bollnow.
In 2023 I completed Karuna Reiki Master with Pam Allen-LeBlanc, as well as level 1, 2 & 3 in Holy Fire III World Peace Reiki, & level 1, 2 & 3 in Animal Reiki, all with Joan Maute.
In 2024 I completed level 1 & 2 in Reiki Drumming & in 2025 level 3, all with Cathy Birkinhead.
In 2024 I completed level 1 & 2 in Animal Communication & in 2025 level 3, all with Pam Allen-LeBlanc.
You teach several different styles of Reiki, how are they different?
Tanran Reiki is a style of Reiki, channelled by William Bagley. It is based on Usui Reiki, with versions of the 4 traditional symbols along with at least 3 additional symbols. Unlike other lineages, the Master symbol is taught at level 1, with all remaining symbols taught at level 2. Meaning all symbols are taught during Practitioner Training.
Holy Fire III Reiki is style of Reiki created by William Rand. It is also based on Usui Reiki, with the 4 traditional symbols 3 of which are given at level 2, with the remaining along with the Holy Fire symbol being given at level 3. This is a powerful style of Reiki, with a strong focus on purification, healing, empowerment, & guidance.
Animal Reiki is a style of Reiki created by Colleen Benelli, Sioux Strong, Robyn Benelli and Pamela Allen-LeBlanc. It is an advanced training for Reiki Practitioners and Masters from any lineage, with its own symbol. Topics also include techniques for grounding & increasing awareness, & healing compassion fatigue & grief.
Reiki Animal Communication is a style of Reiki created by Pamela Allen-LeBlanc. It is an advanced training for Reiki Practitioners and Masters from any lineage. Topics include identifying and developing your “clair” senses to telepathically communicate with animals, and how to use divination tools to verify results.
Karuna Reiki is a style of Reiki created by William Rand. It is an advanced training for Reiki Masters from any lineage, with 8 additional symbols. Topics also include toning & chanting, healing spirit attachments, & receiving spiritual guidance.
Reiki Drumming is a style of Reiki created by Michael Arthur Baird. It is an advanced training for Reiki Practitioners and Masters from any lineage. Topics include connecting with your drum, using it to create sacred space as well as several different drumming techniques suitable to use during Reiki sessions.
